It was our anniversary/New Years trip so we had much to celebrate - 2007 was approaching. If that wasn't exciting enough, we were about to embark on our third year of marriage. We had spent the last 4 days in Oakbrook, IL, right across the street from a HUGE outdoor mall. Aaron had been working on an inventory for KPMG while Michelle made friends with a group of elderly, Italian men (just in case one of them would sometime in their life stumble upon this blog...one man, Jamie was not elderly). We were about to switch hotels and were excited about going downtown that night for some good food and shopping. Little did we know that our friend the Impala had other plans for us. We unloaded the bags and got back in the car only to find that it would not start. The story is very entertaining and exciting but in an attempt to keep anyone reading this from nodding off, I'll summarize: In the next 24 hours we lost a chunk of change and gained a new passlock something-or-another (thanks to Ben Sage...yeah for Ben), a new battery and a new starter. We visited Firestone twice, took a nice ride with a tow-truck driver and Michelle found out that her so-called accountant husband was actually an undercover mechanic. It was all forgotten though when Michelle had THE BEST MEAL OF HER LIFE at Rosebud's on Rush in Downtown Chicago!
